Ben Bernanke says buy

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress the best way to stimulate the economy is to buy " domestically produced goods" What does this mean ?

Ray Tapajna : He should have used the term Made in the USA as we always used to signify what is best for our economy

Domestically produced goods could be goods that are only
Assembled in the USA
Fabricated in the USA
Crafted in the USA
or the now famous cop out term -
Built in America

Built in America means that parts can be brought in from the wage slave labor markets of the world. The term hides what really is taking place.

A worst case scenario is something like the State of Indiana paying Honda upfront about $60 million dollars for Honda to build an assembly plant in their state and paying out another $100 milion dollars for roads etc to support the project. Only 5000 new jobs were created while 20,000 auto parts workers lost their jobs. The ratio does not add up to much of anything that stimulates an economy. And it will take many years for the state to recoup the investment and most likely the project will never end up in the black. Just think if the state instead gave a million dollars to 160 different enterprises to create new products and markets. How many new jobs would be created and how many new businesses would be activated? There would be many more jobs than only 5000 assembly jobs.

We have an economy without drums - see Tapart News and Art that Talks . It has no economic beat to keep an economy going.

In philosophy, we talk about everything that is started needing a starter. An orchestra needs drums to keep the beat. Imagine going to a concert where there are no drums. If the parts come from outside the USA, it is an economy without drums.

The most important thing to a farmer is seeds and not seed that last for only one season. One harvest does not make another. The seeds do. An economy needs seeds to recycle local value added economies.

A car needs a battery and fuel to run. It can not go anywhere without either. President Obama and the free traders of our times try to drive an economic engine without any power source to keep the economic motor going.

A computer needs a Central Processor Unit and a power source to work. Without them, a computer is only a box to nowhere. In the beginning of computers there were many articles published about the need to prepare for more leisure time with computers taking over the manual operations. Many do have more leisure time but it is because they lost their jobs. In the service sector, thousands of computer system houses closed down because there was no way to compete in the global economic arena. New creative systems that could have been are blocked out of our economy A student is told they need to be computer efficient to get a job. And now, they find it to be true while they work with computers at minimum wages jobs.

See more at Free Market is not Free Enterprise and Economics from the church on the streets This is loaded with resources to forward to friends, educators, students, political leaders, news channels and especially to people like Fed Res Chairman Ben Bernanke

And the above not only applys to the USA but countries everywhere. We need to find out why even subsistent living farmers can not compete in a global economy and why they can only grow a drug crop to survive.

American Dream is Burning
Major causes behind our global economic crisis - the "commodization of workers
