Health Care has economic cancer
Don't get me wrong, health care is a real issue and society has the right through the democratic process to make it a right for everyone. However, the liberals assume they are the delivery system for it and big government can act as big brother in the delivery of health care. Logic tells us there has to be limits because there is no way an economy can support unlimited health care. Reportedly, with about 40 million Americans without it and others having to ration their health care and prescriptions , health care consumed 18 percent of our econommy in the USA. A single tax payer system under big brother reportedly would consume 50 percent of our economy and I do not think anyone knows how this is possible.
So, health care is all about costs and how a society pays for it . A society needs local value added economies to even start thinking about it but our economy has been chopped up into pieces and has been exported to places all over the globe. Since there are no tariffs on products, the globalist free traders leave the matter out of the picture. - or for that matter all other entitlements. They act as if these things are relics from another time. There is too much global competition that has none of this overhead .
Globalization and free trade are the causes for this economic impotence but no one seems to want to talk about it. No one has yet come up with economic Viagra. So, we have an impossible task trying to figure how to pay for the needed health care.
We wonder why it became the crowining issue of President Obama while the government has spent trillions of dollars trying to bail out the economic mess caused directly globalization and free trade. Tariffs have been taken off products and now in essence have been put on future generations for years to come because the bail outs are really tariffs on the future.
President Clinton hid our economic mess behind the Balkan wars and his other "Wag the Dog" wars. The Y2k crisis acted as an artificial stimulus package for awhile but it stopped abruptly in the year 2000. Billions of dollars were poured into the economy to fix the Y2k problems but it was temporary money and it did not last. Clinton admitted using Social Security funds to fun the Balkan wars. Then President Bush came and followed in Clinton's footsteps and used his pre-emptive wars to hide the economic mess for another eight years. President Obama comes and bails out big money, the financial communities, the stock market and the credit card companies who were charging usury rates but is blind to all who lost their jobs during the most massive dislocation of jobs in U.S. history since 1990.
Apparently, President Obama is using the health care issue to hide all the economic sins but it still comes down to one thing. Health care is all about costs while our economy based on making money on money instead of making things is burning out. Globalization and free trade is a race to the bottom. We hit bottom. Still President Obama acts as if it never happened and tries to break through it as if it is an economic sound barrier.
Everything now seems to be obsolete and new ways have to found. Our tax codes won't do the jobs. A national sales tax would act as a domestic tariff on products. Who can untangle this new economic terror that globalization and free trade have bred. Don't forget American workers carry a 15 percent overhead just in Payroll and Medicare Tax.
